Scottie Pippen’s Daughter Arrested for Public Intoxication and Urination

*Sierra M. Pippen couldn’t hold it in any longer.
The daughter of former Chicago Bulls all-star Scottie Pippen was arrested in Iowa Sunday morning for urinating in a hotel lobby, reports TheGazette.com.
According to Iowa City police criminal complaints, around 1:30 a.m., 20-year-old Pippen walked into the lobby of the Sheraton Inn, peed on the floor and bounced. Hotel staff told police they recognized Pippen from an earlier incident.
The University of Iowa student was found in the walkway next to the hotel. She appeared to be intoxicated and smelled of alcohol, police said. Police said Pippen was wearing two bar wristbands.
She refused to participate in field sobriety and breath tests and also accused the officer of being a racist, police said. She was arrested on charge of public intoxication and public urination.
According to criminal complaints, Sunday morning’s incident was Pippen’s second at the hotel this month. On April 10, Pippen got into a fight with security at the hotel and was arrested after admitting to being drunk and submitting to a breath test that showed her blood alcohol content to be .141 percent.

Angels paid heavily to coldly dump Josh Hamilton

Angels owner Arte Moreno shakes hands with Josh Hamilton during the player's introductory press conference on Dec. 15, 2012. (Getty)
On a mid-December day, what seems like forever ago, Josh Hamilton was asked if the Los Angeles Angels were right to believe in him.
The sun shined. The cameras clicked. Optimism hovered like a halo. His wife and four daughters sat before him, as did Angels owner Arte Moreno, as did the rest of his baseball career. He was 31 years old, lucky in some ways to have made it there, but there nevertheless, rich many times over and about to be feathered into a lineup that already held Mike Trout and Albert Pujols. The press conference was held in what amounted to a bar, which was how certain the Angels were of their belief in him, the recovering alcoholic and drug addict.

“It comes to a point of making choices,” Hamilton said that day. “What choices are you going to make?”

Why aren't Mayweather-Pacquiao tickets on sale yet? It's boxing, that's why...

Boxers Manny Pacquiao (R) from the Philippines and Floyd Mayweather from the US pose during a press conference in Los Angeles, California, on March 11...
LAS VEGAS – The biggest event in boxing history is rapidly turning into its greatest embarrassment.
And that's saying something considering the long and mostly sordid history of professional boxing.
It's less than two weeks before Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao are scheduled to step into a ring at the MGM Grand Garden on May 2, but incredulously, tickets to the fight aren't on sale yet. Nor are the approximately 50,000 closed-circuit seats in Las Vegas that are supposed to be available for purchase.
Combined, the fighters are expected to collect upwards of $300 million in prize money between them. The bout is expected to easily surpass every financial record ever kept, even adjusting for inflation. Pay-per-view sales could, for the first time, threaten three million.
If there is an event, of course the rich and the famous won't have any worries about accommodations and tickets, even though there unquestionably will be a lot of very rich noses seriously out of joint when they discover their $1,500 tickets are in the upper reaches of the arena.
The average boxing fan, the one who kept this sport alive and kicking through the many dark years, is being hit hardest by this debacle.

Bulls player Jimmy Butler turned down $40 million before the breakout season that's going to make him millions more

Bulls player Jimmy Butler turned down $40 million before the breakout season that's going to make him millions more
The fourth-year wing player has become one of the top two-way players in the NBA, averaging 20 points per game while guarding the opponent's best player nightly.
The timing couldn't have been better for Butler. On the eve of a contract year, Butler reportedly turned down a four-year, $40 million contract extension from the Bulls.
It was a risk at the time. Butler was coming off a season in which he played through injuries and his numbers suffered, posting woeful shooting percentages of 39% and 28% from three-point range. As always, turning down a contract means a player is betting on himself. Butler not only had to avoid injury this season, he had to outplay the $10 million a season he was offered.
Now Butler's gamble looks genius. As a fourth-year player, Butler can earn a maximum contract that's worth 25% of the salary cap, according to Larry Coon's CBA FAQ. With the salary cap projected at $67 million next season, if Butler gets a max contract, he can earn over $16 million next season. If he remains with the Bulls, they can also offer him a five-year contract (while other teams can only offer four) with 7.5% raises each season (while other teams can only offer 4.5%). If the Bulls offer him a maximum contract, Butler could earn ~$96 million over five seasons — more than double his extension at the beginning of the year.

Troy Aikman's name is going to be on UCLA's strength facility.
The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and Fox NFL analyst donated $1,000,000 to UCLA's Wasserman Football Center. As a result of his donation, the strength center inside the building will be known as the Troy Aikman Strength and Conditioning Center.
"UCLA holds a very special place in my heart,” Aikman said in a statement.  “As you go through life, it is common to be defined by the company you keep.  I’ve been fortunate to be associated with two outstanding institutions.  In many eyes, I’ll always be a Dallas Cowboy, and I’m extremely proud of that.  By making this contribution to UCLA Football, It’s clear that I am, and always will be, a UCLA Bruin as well.  My time at UCLA helped mold me into the person I am today, and I want the Bruin student-athletes that come after me to have the same opportunity I had to achieve their boyhood dreams.”

Duke freshman Justise Winslow leaving for NBA Draft

DURHAM, N.C. -- Justise Winslow is entering the NBA Draft after one season at Duke, coach Mike Krzyzewski said Tuesday.
The forward said in a statement issued by the school that "my dreams and aspirations have literally come true" while winning the national title in his only season in college.
He says he believes "it is time to take the next step on my career path and play at the highest level."
Winslow averaged 12.5 points and 6.5 rebounds while helping Duke win its fifth national title.
The announcement came less than a week after the same decision from teammate Jahlil Okafor, the first freshman selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference's player of the year.
And just as Okafor's was, Winslow's choice wasn't much of a surprise.
"He had a sensational year, both on and off the court," Krzyzewski said. "He was an amazing factor for our success in winning the national championship.

Danica Patrick: I'd say yes if Ricky Stenhouse proposed

If Ricky Stenhouse Jr. popped the question to Danica Patrick, he's not going to get a "no" answer.
In a taped interview with Darrell Waltrip during Fox's prerace coverage of Saturday's Sprint Cup Series race at Texas, Waltrip asked about the answer to a possible proposal. Patrick said she would say "yes." And then when his brother, Michael, did his usual insipid tour of pit road before the race, he told Stenhouse what Danica's answer would be.
Yes, writing about Danica Patrick and a future wedding is a pretty popular story. We're fully aware of that. But we also want to take the opportunity to say that it's juuuuust a bit awkward to ask a question about a potential marriage proposal response in a nationally televised interview.
Of course Patrick is going to say yes. While she may be polarizing, she's very polished and she's not going to admit to Darrell Waltrip and the NASCAR viewing audience if she didn't see aa long-term future with her boyfriend of over two years. She's fully aware of the reaction she'd cause with an answer opposite of the one she gave.
We also guess Patrick told Stenhouse about the interview so he wasn't blindsided when told by Michael Waltrip before the race. Talk about an unneeded distraction.

Royals outfielder Alex Rios breaks hand, out indefinitely

Royals outfielder Alex Rios breaks hand, out indefinitely
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Kansas City Royals have suffered their first loss of the season: Right fielder Alex Rios was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a broken bone in his left hand.
Rios was hit by a pitch Monday in the eighth inning of their game at Minnesota. X-rays revealed a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal, which is the bone on the pinky finger. The team said no timetable for his return has been set, declaring him out indefinitely, but the injury typically takes one month or so to heal.
The Royals and Twins had Tuesday off before resuming their series Wednesday, when the Royals will make a corresponding move to replace Rios on the roster. Likely, Lorenzo Cain will move to right field and Jarrod Dyson will replace Cain in center field.

Jordan Spieth: a rising star grounded in normalcy

Jordan Spieth: a rising star grounded in normalcy
AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) -- The green jacket is all Jordan Spieth needs for an identity. He is the Masters champion.
It's just not going to help him get rid of a nickname he picked up late last year from a few PGA Tour players that goes against the way he was raised and irritates him more than a three-putt bogey.
Golden Child.
''It was either Colt Knost or Robert Garrigus ... I'm not sure who started with the nickname,'' Spieth said Tuesday during a break in his New York media tour. ''But it's not nice what I say to them when they say it to me. I've been working on trying to keep it quiet. And this week isn't going to help.''
It surfaced again even before he teed off in his record-setting win at Augusta National.

Opening night at the unfinished Wrigley Field was a disaster

(Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images)There were not enough bathrooms for the 34,000 people.Baseball season is only a game old and the renovations at Wrigley Field are already a nightmare for Chicago Cubs fans.

Because of a lack of usable restrooms on opening night, lines were so long that fans missed several innings of the game — some resorted to urinating into their plastic concession-stand cups, according to reports.
Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports was at the game, and he confirmed that lines for the restrooms were "problematically long" and posted a photo of what appeared to cups filled with urine.

http://sports.yahoo.com/video/young-authority-013036661.html

Obama ordered relations with Cuba to be normalized in December. The NBA and FIBA, basketball's world governing body, also will invite two players and one coach from Cuba to participate in an upcoming Basketball without Borders camp for the first time.
