Chicago Blackhawks star forward Patrick Kane is unlikely to face criminal charges stemming from allegations he raped a woman in his home in Hamburg, N.Y. in early August according to the Buffalo News. Nothing is set in stone yet as Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita has remained mostly quiet on the investigation, which is now nearly three months old, however the News cites three sources close to the investigation who don't see it moving forward with charges.
“This case is going nowhere,” one knowledgeable source told The Buffalo News when asked about the possibility of criminal charges.Sedita did tell the News that he is still waiting for the investigation to be completed and noted that the prosecutor assigned to the case is currently on vacation.
“I was told … the case will be administratively dismissed” without being presented to a grand jury, a second knowledgeable source added.
