The Mets were held to no runs for most of the game until a furious rally in the 8th off of Joakim Soria which cut it to a one run game. With runners on 1st & 3rd in the 9th with just one out the Mets could not come through. Strikeouts by Wright & Cespedes ended the Mets comeback hopes on opening night.
